A Year In Review — A Huge 2022 With An Even Bigger 2023 Up Next.
What a year it's been for Stepz fitness! Throughout 2022, our organisation has gone from strength to strength (just like our members!), and we are proud to share that there are now more than 18 incredible Stepz fitness facilities across QLD and NSW. And you better believe we are only just getting started.
What We Achieved In 2022
Before we look to the future, let’s step back and appreciate what we've achieved this year. Here are some of our exciting highlights from 2022:
We saw the Stepz brand featured in leading publications such as Body and Soul, Sydney Morning Herald and Lifehacker Australia.
One of our franchisors has now established themselves as a key figure in the Australian Fitness industry. This saw them speak at the Australian Fitness Expo alongside other reputable industry figures, such as the Co-Founder of Anytime Fitness Australia and top Fitstop and UBX franchisors.
We expanded to a whopping 18 facilities across 2 states, with 7 more in the pipeline to be up and running within a few months in areas including Figtree, Maitland, Singleton, Lake Macquarie, Colebee and more.
And finally, our gym group is at its highest average membership levels ever!
But if we told you that all of the above pales in comparison to what's up our sleeves for 2023?
Welcoming Our New Team Members
First things first, we'll be hitting the ground running thanks to some exciting new additions to the team.
We want to give a big welcome to Nicole Monteforte, who will be joining the Head Office team as well as our additional support staff.
Another face we are welcoming into the Stepz family is Daniel Hotchkis. We just signed a Master Franchise Agreement with Dan — this is super exciting because it means Stepz Fitness ACT will be opening early 2023. We've also got plans in the works to pop up in Victoria before the end of the year, so it's full steam ahead on the Stepz Australia takeover!
Expanding Locations
In addition, we have struck a multi-site deal with ASX-listed Landlords, including industry heavyweights Region Group and Charter Hall.
As we continue to expand, sourcing the best locations becomes even more critical. That's why we are proudly partnering with one of Australia's premier leasing teams headed by Daniel Matan.
Have you ever heard the saying, "If one's good, two must be better"?
Well, that's certainly the vibe we're getting from our current franchisee network, as we've received tremendous interest from franchisees looking to become multi-location owners! And we look forward to helping them make that happen in 2023.
Lismore Bounces Back
2023 isn't all just about new clubs, either. After a mammoth effort rebuilding from the devastation of last year's flood, Stepz Lismore will be reopening in mid-January! Our hats go off to Alyce Benson for her unrelenting determination and unwillingness to let anything stop her dream.
Stepz Muswellbrook Is A Smashing Success
Another franchise win for January also comes from Stepz Fitness Muswellbrook, which is on track to break even in its FIRST MONTH! Thanks to our Stepz Marketing system and digital agency partner Mastered Marketing who has delivered an incredible volume of leads with a powerful marketing campaign.
30 Clubs By This Time Next Year
Now with all this talk about the new year, it's only fitting that we share our 2023 resolution, and boy is it a big one.
By the end of 2023, there will be at least 30 Stepz locations Australia-wide. It's a big task, but one we are confident we can hit, only with the help of our incredible franchisees, of course.
There's plenty more to come from us this year, but for now, it's time to get excited about 2023 and kick some fitness goals!
